National Reconciliation Week took place on the 27th May-3rd June and was a valuable opportunity to educate our young children on the importance of learning about our shared history, and exploring how we can reach reconciliation in Australia.
Through intentional teaching, group discussions, traditional dances and music, and traditional art, our children grew a vast appreciate for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and culture.
Implementing learning about ATSI culture in our program has supported this years ‘Be Brave, Make Change’ theme, as our children become more brave to take action. Modelling forgiveness and saying sorry creates the foundation for children’s’ journey of contributing to reconciliation in their future.
