Our chicken program has officially finished for this year! We have learnt so many things from our chickens and we will most definitely miss seeing them run around our yard and playing with them!
Having pets to care for and look after teaches children kindness, respect and responsibility from an early age. It also promotes social skills and team work, as they share their happiness and discoveries with their friends.
The children were also very thrilled to find out that eggs don’t come from the shops, upon finding their own eggs in the coop one morning.
Building of the children’s immense interest in the chicken program, we incorporated various chicken themed activities to support our children’s learning and development. We enjoyed various counting, phonics and sounds, craft and music and movement activities. Every day we were learning something new, all thanks to our chickens!
This was a great experience for all, and our new friends will be missed!
