An All About Me program supports a young child’s growing sense of identity and belonging in their environments. ‘All About Me’ not only encourages children to identify their characteristics, likes, hobbies, aspirations, but also encourages them to appreciate the similarities and differences between themselves and their peers. By building a strong sense of identity and belonging, children are also able to meaningfully identify and understand their emotions, and communicate these emotions with trusted friends and adults around them.
A focus on this program is great for the start of the year to help children settle into their environment and build strong relationships with peers and educators. But a child’s sense of identity and belonging is encouraged constantly throughout the year, as their agency and choices are respected and they feel in control of the world around them!
