At Kidz on the Avenue we are dedicated to teaching our children the importance around road safety. Through intentional teaching, the children were given the chance to use their memory recall skills as well as their creative and imaginative minds. The children showed great confidence in completing various learning experiences such as free hand drawing the traffic lights, pedestrian crossings and stop signs. As theorist Dewey has stated, the education of young children is child-centred, active and interactive, which us educators strongly believe that it is to be implemented and shown in our children’s everyday life.
At young age, children are always keen to explore and this could, unfortunately, put them in dangerous situations. This is exactly why road safety is an important topic to teach all young children, helping them understand the difference between safe and unsafe situations.
